The Community Services Department is the Village of Mamaronecks "People Department". The mission of this department is to create and administer programs to enhance the quality of life for Village residents in need of social services and senior citizens.
Areas of service to senior citizens include nutrition, home-delivered meals, door-to-door transportation to medical facilities in Westchester and a reduced-fare taxi coupon program. The Village administers a federally funded Nutrition Site at the Mamaroneck Town Center.
Areas of service to residents of all ages include bilingual translation, general information and/or referral to other Village departments, County services or State services, and community outreach. Home visits are made to the homebound. Appointments may be made for office visits.
The Village of Mamaroneck Housing Authority administers the Federal HUD Section 8 Rental Assistance Program, primarily for the benefit of the eligible residents of the Village of Mamaroneck. This program is intended to provide rental assistance to needy families. A Section 8 Rental Assistance Program Director and two (2) administrative assistants currently administer the program.
The Housing Authority Office invites inquiries from families seeking rental assistance and landlords willing to participate in the program. Applications for Section 8 Rental Assistance can be obtained from this office.
