Q:           Where do I go to vote?
A:            Telephone the County Board of Elections at (914) 995-5700 or visit www.westchestergov.com and click on Departments, then Board of Elections.   You can find your polling place, register to vote or get information about absentee ballots.
 
Q:           Do I need a permit to hold a Garage Sale at my residence?  If so, is there a fee?
A:            No permit is necessary for a resident to hold a garage sale at their residence, hence, no fee. 
 
Q:           Is a Permit necessary for a Block Party?
A:            Block Party Permit Application is available from this website and there is no fee associated with the issuance of a permit.  

Q:           Does the Village remove nuisance animals from my property?
A:            The village cannot legally enter private property, even for the removal of pests. The village can refer a resident to a private trapper.  Call the Dept. of Public Works Office at 914-777-7745.

Q:           I am a Washingtonville resident.  How do I report a foul odor in the vicinity?
A:            Residents must call the ODOR COMPLAINT HOTLINE at 1-888-533-3902 so that the odor can be investigated by the village and resolved.

Q:           How can I purchase a recycling bin?
A:            Recycling bins may be purchased at the Public Works Offices or at the Village Clerk’s Office. The bins cost $5.00 and will be delivered to your home.

Q:           My husband threw out our Recycling Calendar for the year, how do I replace it?
A:            You can leave an email request on this website, or call 777-7703 and a replacement will be mailed to you or pick one up at the Manager’s Office.

Q:           Who can I call to report discoloration of my tap water?
A:            Problems with tap water should be reported to Westchester Joint Water Works, 698-3500  

Q:           How do I get a traffic sign placed on my street?
A:            Start the process by calling the Traffic Coordinator’s office at 777-7716

Q:           Why is the phone number of the Manager’s Office on my cablevision bill?
A:            The Village Manager is the administrator of the tri-municipal cable board of control and as such, cablevision is required by the FCC to print this number on its statement.  If you need to contact CABLEVISION the local number is 777-3900 for the office and 777-9000 for customer service.

Q:           How do I contact the Fire Department for a non-emergency matter?
A:            Dial the Fire Chief’s Office at 914-825-8777.

Q:           Can I place a sign at the entrance to Harbor Island Park to advertise my local school/church fair?
A:            Signs are no longer allowed at that location.   The area near the post office is the only allowed location in the village.  Contact the Manager’s Office to request permission.

Q:           How do I obtain a parking permit?
A:            Parking permits can be obtained from the Clerk Treasurer’s office at 777-7722. A Handicapped Parking Permit can be obtained from the Police Department by calling 777-7727.

Q:           My neighbor has garbage accumulating in his yard, who can I call to make a complaint?
A:            Call the Building Department at 777-7731 to report any code violations in your neighborhood.
