The all-volunteer Mamaroneck Emergency Medical Service (MEMS) is putting an urgent call out to all residents and businesses of the Village of Mamaroneck for your support and contributions to fund the purchase of a new ambulance for calls responded to by MEMS.
The current ambulance, a 2000 model Ford E-450 Type 3 Ambulance has reached the end of its useful life and is not in service. MEMS is continuing to provide emergency ambulance response service through its secondary ambulance, a 2004 Ford Type 3 Ambulance.
MEMS currently has raised enough for about half the cost of a new ambulance, but needs to raise another seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) for the purchase of a new ambulance, immediately.
Said MEMS Captain Nikki Deshensky, “We are hoping that the civic minded members of the Village of Mamaroneck community will come forward, as they have in the past, to help us buy a new ambulance so we can continue to provide top-notch service to the Mamaroneck community. Our 10-year old ambulance unfortunately is beyond repair, and the main source of funding we receive to buy ambulances is through donations from residents and businesses.”
Donations can be sent to the following address:

MEMS is a 501 c 3 not-for-profit agency. All donations to the Ambulance Fund are deductible under applicable laws.
Please give us your support!
