Ink, Toner Cartridges, Cell Phone Recycling

Used inkjet and toner cartridges, as well as old cell phones and lithium batteries, should never be thrown in the trash or curbside recycling.

The Village of Mamaroneck has special containers for collecting these items at the Village Hall at the Regatta building, located at 123 Mamaroneck Avenue, off the Boston Post Road. Staples office supply store also accepts empty cartridges, and will provide you with a $2 store credit per cartridge.

You can also take them to the Westchester County Household Material Recovery (H-MRF) facility, located at 15 Woods Road in Valhalla, where you can also dispose of any other type of hazardous waste, from automotive fluids to mercury thermometers. For a full list, click here.
