After 1-Year and 3-Months, COVID-19 Local Emergency Proclamation Set To Expire on June 15, 2021, at 11:59PM

Mamaroneck, NEW YORK (June 15, 2021) --- The Village of Mamaroneck is pleased to announce today that the Proclamation of Local Emergency that was first issued on March 16, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (and renewed every month since then) will expire tonight, June 15, 2021, at 11:59pm. For exactly 1 year and 3 months, the Village Manager, Jerry Barberio, has issued renewals (with various revisions) of that proclamation to address the health and safety of the Village's employees as well as to maintain the safety of all Village properties.

"Our priority, as always, was the health and safety of our residents and employees," said Village Manager Jerry Barberio. "I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read these proclamations and to follow them."

The proclamations (as well as the daily email announcements that were sent during the first three months of the pandemic) have been chronicled on the Village's Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) webpage. With the expiration of the Proclamation set to occur at 11:59pm, the Village will remove the webpage and archive it.

"The cancellation of the March 16th Proclamation brings closure to a chapter in our community's response to the COVID-19 pandemic," said Village of Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy. "It’s been a tough year and three months. Thank you ALL for hanging in there. We looked out for each other and we looked out for our neighbors who needed a hand. The Village staff has been remarkable in its constant service to residents throughout this traumatic time. In the weeks and months ahead, we will find ways to commemorate and remember this tragic event and the extraordinary efforts of our employees."
