NYS Department of Health LogoA REMINDER: Everyone in New York Must Wear Masks When Out In Public

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced an Executive Order requiring all people in New York to wear a mask or a face covering when out in public and in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained, such as on public transportation. Executive Order 202.17 requires the masks for anyone over the age of two who is able to medically tolerate it.  The requirement went into effect at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17.

Executive Order 202.16 went into effect on Wednesday, April 15 at 8 p.m. and applies to all essential businesses or entities. Any employee who is present in the workplace shall be provided and shall wear face coverings when in direct contact with customers or members of the public. Businesses must provide, at their expense, such face coverings for their employees. This provision may be enforced by local governments or local law enforcement as if it were an order pursuant to section 12 or 12-b of the Public Health Law.

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Application Streamlined, $5K grants from U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation

The New York State Department of Labor (DOL) today announced the launch of a new application for New Yorkers to apply for traditional Unemployment Insurance or the new COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. This one-stop-shop for unemployment benefits will connect New Yorkers with the benefits they deserve faster, without requiring them to call the Department of Labor.
