Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for April 28, 2020

MAMARONECK, New York, April 28, 2020 — We offer the following announcements for today, Tuesday, April 28:

Food Distribution Today in Harbor Island Park

Harbor Island Park, the "Jewel of Mamaroneck", was the site of a massive food distribution effort for residents and families in need. Yesterday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that food bank demand during the COVID-19 pandemic is up 200% in Westchester County.

Our thanks to the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, along with other community charities, for collecting and distributing the food. Each bag of food also contained cloth masks, which the Village received from Westchester County Executive George Latimer. Our thanks to the dozens of volunteers who supplied the muscle and the love to give out 600 heavy bags of groceries --- all in a safe and orderly manner while practicing social distancing and all the necessary precautions.

Anyone who is hungry or is in need of food should contact the
 Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force (www.lmfoodpantry.org)

Or call (914) 698-3558

How You Can Help: If you can, please make a cash donation to help feed hungry people who are our neighbors and friends:

As Tom Murphy, the Mayor of the Village of Mamaroneck, often says, "Let’s make sure that no kid in this community goes to bed hungry during this emergency. There is no need for that. We are all too blessed to allow that to happen."

Census Map 2020-04-27

The higher the response rate, the fewer households that census takers will need to contact.
For anyone who hasn't completed the Census Questionnaire, the fifth mailing - a postcard - from the Census Bureau should have started arriving in homes yesterday.
This mailing is a postcard with the message “It’s not too late”.

The Village of Mamaroneck thanks our friends and partners at the Community Resource Center for offering Over the Phone Census Assistance!
