Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for March 11, 2020

MAMARONECK, New York, March 11, 2020 — As news and information about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues, the Village of Mamaroneck will monitor the situation closely. Our priority, as always, is the health and safety of our residents and employees. Thank you for taking the time to carefully read emails and posts from the Village.

  1. Parks and Playgrounds — Staff from the Village of Mamaroneck Parks & Recreation Department are implementing a thorough cleaning and disinfecting regimen of playground equipment (as well as benches and chairs) at all Village parks. Equipment is sprayed and dried with a ready-to-use detergent disinfectant product that is designed to kill viruses and pathogens in accordance with the Department of Health (DOH) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. All high-touch surface areas will be cleaned every day until further notice.
  2. Tonight’s Special Meeting of the Village’s Board of Trustees has been cancelled. Click here to view all the cancelled Village meetings that were announced yesterday.
  3. Our colleagues in Westchester County are recommending that large gatherings be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled. That having been said, our partners at the Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee are meeting today to discuss the March 22nd parade. According to their Facebook page, “We are monitoring conditions closely. We will make an announcement hopefully by late tomorrow night.” So please stay tuned.

The Village of Mamaroneck has put together a Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) webpage with information for residents that brings together resources from our partners in the community (Mamaroneck School District and Rye Neck School District) as well as from the County, State, and Federal levels of government.
