Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for March 15, 2020

MAMARONECK, New York, March 15, 2020 — All residents and the public (who are not showing symptoms of illness) should exercise caution and maintain "social distancing" practices, as per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), especially when gathering in or on Village properties (i.e. parks, playgrounds, facilities and open spaces). Social distancing is defined as remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible.

While it is impossible to completely close Village parks and playgrounds, until further notice the Village recommends residents and the public (who are not showing symptoms of illness) to enjoy in a safe and health-conscious way our parks, playgrounds and open spaces in accordance with these safety protocols.

We encourage residents (especially families with children) to read these "Guidelines for Gatherings of Children and Youth while Schools are Closed", which was produced by the Public Health Department of King County in Washington State.

The Village of Mamaroneck has put together a Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) webpage with information for residents that brings together resources from our partners in the community (Mamaroneck School District and Rye Neck School District) as well as from the County, State, and Federal levels of government.
