Yesterday's Weekly Food Distribution

Dozens of volunteers from the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force and the Coalition for Community packed and safely distributed over 650 bags of food to 311 drive-through recipients and 217 individuals on foot.

81 bags were delivered to the homes of elderly and infirmed. An additional 17 bags were delivered by the Community Resource Center to the homes of residents, including some recovering from the COVID-19 virus.

249 freshly-baked pizzas donated by Anthony Pecora of Villa Maria Pizza in Larchmont were also distributed . The pizzas were frozen, doubled wrapped, and in sealed boxes.

Thanks for the essential support of the Village of Mamaroneck including Mayor Tom Murphy, Village Manager Jerry Barberio, Police Chief Christopher Leahy, General Foreman Tony Iacovelli, and Recreation Supervisor Jason Pinto.

The Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force is extremely grateful to our friends at Feeding Westchester for providing much of the food that was distributed yesterday, including an enormous amount of fresh produce. The food support that Feeding Westchester has given to our community throughout the pandemic has been extraordinary.

State Reopening Guidelines

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has outlined guidelines that will help regions create individual plans based on facts and data to reopen New York.The loosening of restrictions in New York will be considered on a regional basis, based on the following criteria. These criteria are designed to allow phased reopenings to begin in each region only if:

  • The infection rate is sufficiently low;
  • The health care system has the capacity to absorb a potential resurgence in new cases;
  • Diagnostic testing capacity is sufficiently high to detect and isolate new cases; and
  • Robust contact-tracing capacity is in place to help prevent the spread of the virus.
