Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for May 8, 2020 + Upcoming Events in the Village of Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, New York, May 8, 2020 — We offer the following announcements for today, Friday, May 8:

Masks Required Sign
Beginning next week, visitors to all parks in the Village of Mamaroneck will see these signs.

Wear A MaskIf you are in a crowded area — you must wear a mask (or face covering). It is the smart and responsible thing to do and it is also the law!

Governor Cuomo issued executive orders 202.17 requiring all people in New York to wear masks or face coverings in public. "Any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance."

Help get this vital message out. All New Yorkers are invited to explain why wearing a mask in public is important in a video submission contest. The winning video will be used in a TV ad. Videos should be less than 30 seconds long and should show how to wear a mask properly, covering both the mouth and nose. The submission deadline is May 15th. Learn more at WearAMask.ny.gov. To see the submission from LMC Media, click here.
