Tropical Storm Isaias

Mayor Tom MurphyDear Friends,

It looks like we will be impacted by Tropical Storm Isaias in the next couple of days. For those who are living in flood prone areas of the Village please take the usual precautions. Remove anything from your yards that can be moved by strong wind gusts.

If you encounter downed electrical wires do not go near them. Do not get out of your car to investigate. Report downed wires immediately to the Village Police Department at (914)777-1122.

The Village will be taking all the usual steps of making sure storm drain are flowing freely, checking the weep holes at the dam near the waterworks and positioning equipment where it might be needed in the event of street closings.

Please limit travel during the storm. This will keep our streets and roadways clear for emergency vehicles. We are blessed with having the bravest and most professional first responders in Westchester. I sleep soundly knowing that our Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Service and our Department of Public Works (DPW) always have and will do more then duty requires when the chips are down.

We will weather this storm like we have met all of 2020’s adversity, by looking out for each other and taking common sense precautions.

Below are the latest forecasts for our area:

Respectfully,

Tom Murphy
Mayor, Village of Mamaroneck
