COVID-19 Announcements

 Get the Facts PNG

COVID-19 Vaccinations are by appointment only and New Yorkers can determine eligibility and find a provider to receive their first dose through the State's "Am I Eligible" app or call the New York State Vaccination Hotline at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829). And New Yorkers will be able to schedule an appointment to receive the required second dose on site after receiving their first dose. New Yorkers should not attempt to book their second appointment online.

You can track the State's vaccination progress through the NYS COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker. The dashboard provides updates on the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine including the number of doses received by the state, a breakdown of first and second doses, and the number of people who have received first and second doses in each region.

Westchester County has developed a Public Service Announcement (in English and in Espanol/Spanish) regarding vaccine scams.

While the vaccination process is underway, all New Yorkers should continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid small and large gatherings.

Please wear a mask. | Follow social distancing protocols (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters).
Wash hands often. Stay away from small and large gatherings.

Christmas Tree Disposal SMALL PNG

Now that Christmas is over, here are some guidelines about setting out your Christmas tree for collection. Christmas trees are chipped and used for composting to keep them out of the regular waste stream.

  • The Village's Department of Public Works will deploy personnel for tree collection through the end of January.
  • Christmas trees must be free of all decorations and lights. Please remove all tinsel, lights and decorations prior to placing the Christmas tree out on the curb.
  • Christmas trees should not be placed in plastic bags.
  • Christmas trees must be placed at the curb, not in the street, for collection.

Please note that the Recycling Center, including the Compost Drop-Off Program, at 313 Fayette Avenue
is CLOSED on Saturdays until further notice.

For more information about the Village's Composting Program, click here.

Coyote Ad Hoc Committee

Coyote

The Village’s Coyote Ad Hoc Committee has put together a Coyote Awareness Flyer for the community. The “Be Coyote Aware” flyer contains important information about coyotes, safety tips, how to keep your area coyote free, what to do if you encounter a coyote, as well as child and pet safety. Our thanks to the Coyote Ad Hoc Committee for making this important flyer and for informing our residents about this important topic. Click here to download the flyer.

Committee for the Environment

Volunteer and Food Waste Kit

Get your Food Waste Recycling Kit on Saturdays at the Mamaroneck Farmers Market, between 9am and 1pm (or until supplies last) in Harbor Island Park. Members of the Committee for the Environment will be selling Food Waste Recycling Kits for $20 (one 2-gallon countertop pail and a larger 6-gallon carry tote and 25 compostable bag liners for the pail). Also, residents can purchase rolls of liners ($2.00 for one roll of 25 compostable bags). Food waste recycling reduces waste, creates compost, and takes some foods that cannot be added to a backyard compost pile. If you would like to volunteer selling Food Waste Recycling Kits at the Mamaroneck Farmers Market, sign up here. For more information, please contact Ellen Silver, Chair of the Committee for the Environment, at silver805@verizon.net. Our thanks to the Committee for the Environment for their help in expanding this program in the Village as part of a wider push to get residents to compost their food scraps in Westchester County!
