Harbor Island Park Beach & Parking (Spring & Summer 2024)

Harbor Island Park seasonal beach and parking pass sales are scheduled to go on sale Monday, April 1, 2024. Individuals interested in purchasing a seasonal beach and/or parking pass can do so in person, Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Parks & Recreation office located in the Stephen E. Johnston Pavilion at Harbor Island Park.

Village of Mamaroneck residents are required to provide a recent utility bill to prove residency, a driver’s license or state issued ID to prove identity, and the vehicle registration for the vehicle which they wish to register (parking permits only). Beach passes and parking permits may be purchased by check or credit card ONLY. (There is a service charge for credit card payments.) At this time, CASH is not accepted.

To expedite the process for those individuals looking to purchase a seasonal beach pass or parking permit, we encourage them to download, print and complete the application form prior to their arrival at the Parks & Recreation office located at the Stephen E. Johnston Pavilion.

Stephen E. Johnston Beach at Harbor Island Park

The Stephen E. Johnston Beach at Harbor Island Park will open for the Summer 2024 season on Friday, May 24, 2024 (the Friday before Memorial Day weekend). The beach will be staffed every day, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Monday, September 2, 2024 (Labor Day). Outside of these hours, when the beach is not staffed, the beach gate will remain open for enjoyment of the waterfront. Daily beach entrance fees can be paid with cash or with credit card (no checks).

The following guidelines are in place at the Stephen E. Johnston Beach:

  • The maximum beach capacity is 300 patrons.
  • The water is OPEN for swimming between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. when lifeguards are on duty.
  • The no swimming rules will be enforced before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:30 p.m.
  • The Spray Ground is OPEN 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • The outdoor shower next to the beach gate is open.
  • No more than two (2) individuals or one (1) family are allowed in the beach restroom facilities at any given time.
  • Harbor Island Park restrooms are open; please note the following guidelines:
    • Beach restrooms will be open to beach users/staff only.
    • Indoor shower facilities are closed.

Harbor Island Parking

Daily Parking tickets are available for purchase at the parking booth, located at the entrance to Harbor Island Park. Patrons may purchase parking by cash or credit card and must display receipt on car dashboard. Outside of normal parking booth hours, boat ramp users must purchase parking at the pay station located at the boat ramp and display receipt on their dashboard. Seasonal parking permit holders should display their hanging parking placard on their rear-view mirror at all times while parked in Harbor Island Park.
