The Recreation and Parks Offices are located in the Beach Pavilion in Harbor Island Park.

Mission Statement

The Recreation Department is responsible for all recreation programs conducted by the Village and the scheduling of  playing fields and other recreational facilities.

Recreation programs are offered for all ages.  Most programs are held in the Beach Pavilion at Harbor Island Park.  The Village's recreation facilities include thirteen parks, ranging from the 44 acre Harbor Island Park to pocket parks throughout the Village.  Facilities include a 700 foot beach, tennis courts in three locations, softball and soccer fields and a recreation center.  The Recreation Department also plans seasonal special events. 

Parks Department

The Village maintains separate Parks & Recreation Departments, however, both departments maintain a close working relationship and work cooperatively to ensure that the Village provides the finest recreational programming and facilities for its residents.  In addition to overseeing care and maintenance of the Village's 14 Parks, the Parks Department also maintains the grounds at the Village's public buildings and spaces.  Overall the Parks Department maintains approximately 110 acres of public property and provides snbow and ice control for approximately 6 miles of sidewalks.
