THE WAVERLY AVENUE BRIDGE IS CLOSED

BEGINNING FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2023, THE WAVERLY AVENUE BRIDGE IS CLOSED.

The duration of the Bridge Closure is currently expected to be 10 months. This closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of the bridge. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Hoyt Avenue. Access to local businesses in the vicinity of the bridge will be maintained at all times. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones.

We realize this closure is an inconvenience. We encourage motorists to plan ahead, seek alternate routes, and give yourselves plenty of extra time. An Emergency Management camera procured by the Village vendor, LVT, was recently installed at the intersection of Hoyt Avenue and Fenimore Road to monitor traffic. You can view this camera from any internet connected device. At this time, we are prioritizing “bursts” of viewing between 6:00am and 8:00pm on weekdays. Please note this camera IS NOT available 24/7 and there may be periods when the stream will go black periodically in order to refresh. Every day, a new "livestream" will be automatically created, which will be the first video shown on the Village's YouTube page. It will have a red icon in the bottom right corner that says “Live”. As an alternative, we also recommend using GoogleMaps, Waze, or other online mapping services to monitor traffic levels in this area.

The Town of Mamaroneck, who is solely responsible for the replacement of the bridge, has put together an informational webpage on their website about the Waverley Avenue Bridge Replacement Project. We encourage you to visit www.bit.ly/WaverlyAvenueBridge for periodic updates as well as contact information for the Waverley Avenue Bridge Replacement Project.
