The Harbor Master's office is located adjacent to the West Basin of the Mamaroneck Harbor in Harbor Island Park.

The Harbor Master oversees and administers all vessels located within the waterways of Harbor Island. The Harbor Master assigns each applicant a float space or mooring space, is responsible for maintaining records of dock and mooring assignments and issues ramp permits for launching boats. The boating season is from May 1st through November 1st, however, the Harbor Master's office operates twelve months of the year. There is a public launching ramp available near the entrance to Harbor Island Park, as well as two pump-out stations, one at each basin.

Mooring space is available for boats over 22' in the East and West Basin of the harbor as well as in our outer harbor. The inner harbor does have a maximum capacity of 170 boaters but we are able to accommodate additional boaters in our outer harbor. Inner harbor placement is provided first to those on the wait list. There is no waiting list for mooring spaces in the outer harbor.

Float space is available for boats 22' and under on the four docks in our harbor, three in the West Basin and one in the East Basin. We also have one dock available for boats between 23' and 25' in our West Basin. There is a longstanding waitlist for this dock space. A guest dock space is available in the East Basin and can be used on a temporary basis. The guest spot will provide easy access to the Village of Mamaroneck and it's amenities. You can contact the Harbor Master's office for the particulars.

Kayaks can be stored either in a float space or a rack space. However, rack spaces are limited to 24 spaces and do fill to capacity at the beginning of the season. We offer rack space first to existing float space boaters.

Ramp access is available all year long, 24 hours a day, except on designated holidays and/or on special event days. Boaters MUST pay either a daily usage fee or obtain a seasonal pass. Those boaters who do not pay either daily usage fee or obtain a seasonal pass will be subject to a ticket for the fee for use of the ramp. Fees are posted above under the ramp access link.

The Harbor Patrol Unit monitors channel 16 and they can also be reached at their home base at 777-7764. For coast guard sponsored boating classes you can contact the US Coast Guard Auxilliary, Flotilla 75, Mamaroneck at 698-0323.

On entering Mamaroneck Harbor, use Chart #12367. Start at the Bell Buoy "42" (40'56.23 x 073'42'13). Head towards the green flashing buoy "5" (40'56.23 x 73'43.000) at the entrance of the Harbor. Leave red and green banded flashing light "MM" to starboard to avoid Ship Rock.
