Together with our partners in the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department and the Village of Larchmont Police Department, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department will provide police escorts on Friday, June 4, for the Mamaroneck High School Graduating Class of 2021 Car Parades. A series of eight 50 car parades will travel across our community and throughout the Mamaroneck School District. Each parade will depart Harbor Island Park, drive past their former elementary school, then past Hommocks Middle School, and culminate at Mamaroneck High School. (Click here to download the parade routes.) The schedule for each group to leave from Harbor Island Park is:
- 8:15 am: Chatsworth A
- 9:15 am: Chatsworth B
- 10:15 am: Murray A
- 11:15 am: Murray B
- 12:15 pm: Central A
- 1:15 pm: Central B
- 2:15 pm: Mamaroneck Ave. A
- 3:15 pm: Mamaroneck Ave. B
Residents are encouraged to come outside their homes or spread out along the route to cheer and congratulate the seniors as they drive through our neighborhoods. (Please remember to follow social distancing --- approximately 6 feet or 2 meters, wear masks or face coverings and avoid congregating in any single location.) All school-aged children are encouraged to wear any school gear that they have (hats, sweatshirts, lounge pants, sports jerseys, etc), but any orange and black will do.
While streets and roads for these parades will remain open to all vehicle traffic, congestion (and noise) should be expected. All parking meters throughout the Village will remain in effect. Within the Village of Mamaroneck, residents can expect the heaviest traffic along:
- East Boston Post Road and West Boston Post Road
- Fenimore Road
- Palmer Avenue
- Mamaroneck Avenue (between N. Barry Avenue Ext. and Mt. Pleasant Avenue)
- North Barry Avenue and North Barry Avenue Ext.
The Village of Mamaroneck congratulates Mamaroneck High School’s Class of 2021 upon their graduation and thanks all our residents for their support of our children for this special event.
A similar Car Parade took place on Thursday, May 27th for Rye Neck High School Graduating Class of 2021.
