Announcing Charles B. Strome, Interim Village Manager

Charles Strome Photo JPGCharles B. Strome, III is the new part-time Interim Village Manager for the Village of Mamaroneck. He will serve in that position until the Village Board of Trustees appoints a new Village Manager.  He was appointed by the Board of Trustees on April 1, 2024.

Mr. Strome comes to the Village with a wide-ranging background in municipal government administration with an extensive knowledge of State, County and Municipal government functions.  He will work side by side with Deputy Village Manager Dan Sarnoff and the Department heads to continue to implement the policies of the Village in an efficient and professional manner, ensuring that the Village and its residents receive the highest levels of service possible.

Prior to retiring in 2022 after 22 years as the City Manager of the City of New Rochelle, Mr. Strome held various managerial positions in the City, ranging from Director of Emergency Services to Assistant City Manager, and Deputy City Manager.  In New Rochelle, Mr. Strome oversaw 750+ full-time employees and an annual operating budget of $265 million.  Mr. Strome also served as chair of the City’s Industrial Development Agency and Corporation for Local Development.

Mr. Strome holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Pace University.  He has two children and resides in Tarrytown, New York.
