MosquitoVillage Prepares for 2020 Mosquito Season

With the warmer weather approaching, the Village of Mamaroneck is actively monitoring for mosquito activity as part of our Village’s mosquito control program. Since last year, the Village has been using Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis (Bti), a naturally occurring bacterium found in soils, in order to treat the Village’s catch basins and the marshes in the Shore Acres neighborhood*. Bti is an effective tool that reduces the mosquito population while minimizing the amount of pesticide materials being sprayed or “fogged” into the air. For more information to learn (1) What the Village is doing, (2) What residents can do, and what to do (3) If you must spray pesticidesclick here.

Please note that Village Hall at the Regatta (123 Mamaroneck Avenue) is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. If you need to schedule an appointment with someone at Village Hall, please call the corresponding department. Click here for more information.
