New York State LogoNew York State Rolls Out Tool to Help Determine if a Business is Eligible to Reopen

Businesses looking to determine if they are eligible to reopen can now use the New York Forward Business Reopening Lookup Tool which can be found here. A few points on this tool:

  • This online tool will help businesses determine whether or not they are eligible to reopen, and the public health and safety standards with which they must comply.
  • To use the tool, start by selecting your county, and then your industry / NAICS Code.

This online tool will be updated regularly as guidance evolves.

New York State Reopening Guidelines

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has outlined guidelines that will help regions create individual plans based on facts and data to reopen New York.The loosening of restrictions in New York will be considered on a regional basis, based on the following criteria. These criteria are designed to allow phased reopenings to begin in each region only if:

  • The infection rate is sufficiently low;
  • The health care system has the capacity to absorb a potential resurgence in new cases;
  • Diagnostic testing capacity is sufficiently high to detect and isolate new cases; and
  • Robust contact-tracing capacity is in place to help prevent the spread of the virus.
