Food Distribution 2020-05-05

Our thanks to the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, along with other community charities, for collecting and distributing the food. Dozens of volunteers from the Hunger Task Force packed and safely distributed well over 700 bags of food to the community including 80 home-delivery bags to the elderly and infirmed --- all in a safe and orderly manner while wearing face masks, practicing social distancing and all the necessary precautions.

Said Malcolm Frouman, President of the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, "Special thanks for the invaluable support of the Village of Mamaroneck including Mayor Tom Murphy, Village Manager Jerry Barberio, Police Chief Christopher Leahy, General Foreman Tony Iacovelli and Recreation Supervisor Jason Pinto."

Anyone who is hungry or is in need of food should contact the
 Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force (www.lmfoodpantry.org)

IMPORTANT: Please wear masks or face coverings in public!

If you are in a crowded area — you must wear a mask (or face covering). It is the smart and responsible thing to do and it is also the law!

New York State DOH

Governor Cuomo issued executive orders 202.17 requiring all people in New York to wear masks or face coverings in public. "Any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance."

Help get this vital message out. All New Yorkers are invited to explain why wearing a mask in public is important in a video submission contest. The winning video will be used in a TV ad. Videos should be less than 30 seconds long and should show how to wear a mask properly, covering both the mouth and nose. The submission deadline is May 15th. Learn more at WearAMask.ny.gov.
