National Weather Service: Heavy Rainfall & Isolated Severe Weather Threat This Afternoon and Evening, Wed, 08/10

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Rainfall / Flash Flood Outlook for our area this afternoon and this evening, Thursday, August 10th. Localized areas of flash flooding is possible across urban and poor drainage areas as well as rivers and creeks rising out of their banks. One-to-two- inches of rain per hour is possible during the heaviest rainfall. 

Please note the following:

  1. Please DO NOT DRIVE ON FLOODED ROADWAYS. Do not drive around barricades.
  2. Please bring inside (or tie down) any items that could be impacted by high winds.
  3. The Hunter Tier lot, across from the Village’s Police Department on Prospect Avenue, is open; but parking is NOT FREE.
  4. If you lose power, report your power problem to ConEdison. Visit www.coned.com or call 1-800-752-6633.  If you see fallen power lines or damaged electrical equipment DO NOT TOUCH them! Call ConEd at 1-800-752-6633.
  5. Please also remember to check-in on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance.
