"Over the last five years, we have bonded over $35 million, while decreasing taxes," said Mr. Jerry Barberio, Village Manager and Budget Officer for the Village of Mamaroneck. "As we continue to provide services at a very high level and deal with frequent disasters, the Village’s Board of Trustees has been able to reinvest $35 million in capital WHILE reducing taxes."

"I am thrilled that the Village is in such a healthy fiscal condition," said Village of Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy. "This will help us continue to give first class service while keeping taxes under control."

Lowering the tax rate was possible due to several factors. Effective expenditure forecasting by Department Heads, informed revenue analysis by the Manager’s and the Clerk-Treasurer’s staff, and the valuations set by the Town of Mamaroneck and the Town of Rye.

Said Mr. Barberio, "I want to thank the Village’s Board of Trustees, Department Heads and staff, and the Budget Committee for their support."

In mid-March of 2024, as mandated by New York State, the Village Manager will release the 2024-2025 Tentative Budget with the Village’s Clerk-Treasurer. Following the release of the Tentative Budget, two Public Hearings will be scheduled, as well as five Work Sessions focusing on each Village department. A list of Hearing Dates and Work Sessions will be announced on the Village’s website around mid-March 2024.
