Covid-19 Vaccine PNG

The COVID-19 Vaccine Is Here! New York State launched a new website about the COVID-19 vaccine with everything you need to know.
The vaccine distribution process, as determined by New York State, is as follows:

Phase One Vaccine Recipients:
High-risk health care workers (i.e. hospital and emergency room workers, ICU staff and pulmonary department staff)
Long-term care facility staff who interact with patients and the most at-risk long-term care facility patients

Phase Two Vaccine Recipients:
First responders
Teachers and school staff
Public health workers
Essential frontline workers that regularly interact with the public
Individuals in the general population deemed particularly high risk due to comorbidities and health conditions
Other long-term care facility patients and those living in congregate settings

Phase Three Vaccine Recipients:
Individuals over 65 years of age
Individuals under 65 years of age with high-risk comorbidities and health conditions

Phase Four Vaccine Recipients:
All other essential workers

Phase Five Vaccine Recipients:
Healthy adults and children

The Westchester County Department of Consumer Protection is warning all Westchester residents to be vigilant for COVID-19 vaccine scams as we enter the next phase of the pandemic.

Tips for Westchester residents to avoid tricks scammers are using:

  • Vaccine is expected to be free.
  • There are no sign-up lists for vaccine.
  • You can't pay to get your vaccine earlier.
  • Medicare or Social Security won't be calling you about getting your vaccine (scammers often act like they are calling from government agencies).
  • You don't need to give out SSN, credit card or bank info before you are able to get vaccine.

If you are contacted by someone looking to sell you early access to the vaccine, contact Westchester Consumer Protection at (914) 995-2155 or at ConPro@westchestergov.com

While the vaccination process is underway, all New Yorkers should continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid small and large gatherings.

Please wear a mask. | Follow social distancing protocols (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters).
Wash hands often. Stay away from small and large gatherings.

Over 70% of cases can be traced to households and small gatherings. It just takes one person infected who doesn't know it and living room spread happens. Stop living room spread.
