Visiting Parks, Beach & Green Spaces During COVID-19

As of April 20, 2021

The Village of Mamaroneck parks, beach and green spaces have always served as places where people can find respite and seek peace and restoration. During this time of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and outbreak, these places are needed now more than ever.

The Village’s Parks and Recreation Department has put together this webpage to answer questions residents and guests may have as the weather gets warmer and more people visit our Village’s parks, beach and green spaces.

The public is invited to safely enjoy our parks, beach and green spaces by following all state guidelines and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Please remember SOCIAL DISTANCING (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) KEEPS OUR PARKS OPEN!  (Scroll down to view the Social Distancing information graphic.)
  • Governor Cuomo issued executive orders 202.17 requiring all people in New York to wear masks or face coverings in public. Any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose AND mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance. Face masks or face-coverings MUST cover BOTH the nose and mouth to be effective! Please note the following image for the correct way to wear a face mask.

  • Staff from the Parks and Recreation Department – along with the Village’s Police Department – has a parks monitoring program that will remind visitors about social distancing and that groups of people outside of a household may not gather or socialize together.

Prominent signage and operation protocols are also part of the department’s preparations. Following the guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New York State Department of Health, the department has also increased the cleanings of any park facility that is currently open to the public. The Village is taking precautions to ensure the health and safety of park guests, team members, and the community remains the top priority.

The Village of Mamaroneck has put together a Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) webpage with information for residents. For more information, please visit
