UPDATE as of 09/30/2021: The New York State Thruway Authority reopened the Old White Plains Road Bridge Over I-95 on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

UPDATE as of 09/23/2021: The New York State Thruway Authority anticipates the reopening of the Old White Plains Road Bridge Over I-95 by the end of the day on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

UPDATE as of 09/17/2021: The New York State Thruway Authority anticipates the reopening of the Old White Plains Road Bridge Over I-95 on September 24, 2021.

UPDATE as of 06/24/2021: The New York State Thruway Authority has informed the Village of Mamaroneck that the Old White Plains Road bridge over I-95 is scheduled to be closed for construction beginning Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

The New York State Thruway Authority is preparing final design documents for a project on I-95 (New England Thruway). This project will include resurfacing deteriorated concrete pavement with an asphalt overlay, minor drainage work, and safety upgrades. In addition, the Old White Plains Road Bridge over I-95, which is located in the Village of Mamaroneck, will be raised to increase vertical clearance along I-95.

The Thruway Authority has informed the Village that it will be necessary to close the Old White Plains Road Bridge during construction and the expected duration of bridge closure will be four weeks. These reference documents, which were provided to the Village by the New York State Thruway Authority, provide more detailed information about the project:

  • Profile (PRO-201)
  • Detour Plans (MPD-004)
