A Note about Village Meetings
As of September 13, 2022, Governor Hochul's Executive Order 11.9, which allowed for the videoconferencing option for public meetings, ended. IN PERSON public meetings of the Village of Mamaroneck (Boards, Commissions, and Committees) are now being held. The elected or appointed members of these public bodies must attend these meetings IN PERSON. When an elected or appointed member of a public body cannot attend the meeting in person, the Village of Mamaroneck may hold remote meetings through the use of videoconferencing per Local Law 4-2022.
Meeting locations can be found on the Village’s online calendar. Members of the public who wish to participate in these meetings may also attend these meetings IN PERSON. Occasionally, and at the discretion of the Chair and/or Trustee Liaison of the public body, videoconferencing (i.e. Zoom) may be available and publicized on the Village’s online calendar should members of the public wish to participate in the meeting through videoconferencing.
As always, meetings for the Village’s Board of Trustee as well as the Land Use Boards (the Board of Architectural Review, the Harbor and Coastal Zone Management Commission, the Planning Board, and the Zoning Board of Appeals) can be viewed on LMC Media or via LMC Media’s YouTube Channel.

Presidents Day - Monday, February 20
All Village offices are closed on Monday, February 20th, in honor of Presidents Day. There will be no garbage, organic, rubbish, or recycling collection on Monday, February 20. The Recycling Center, including the Compost Drop-Off Program, at 313 Fayette Avenue is closed and the Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park is also closed.

El Administrador de la Aldea de Mamaroneck Jerry Barberio y su oficinistas tendrá horarios de oficina abierto desde las Cinco de la tarde hasta las Siete de la noche (5pm-7pm), una vez al mes, en Español. Durante estos horarios de oficina ustedes tienen la oportunidad de conocer y preguntar preguntas al Administrador de la Aldea de Mamaroneck, discutir el Estado de Nueva York plan de acción para la recuperación del huracán IDA, y discutir problemas que surgen como un inquilino en la comunidad, y también compartir maneras de participar y ayudar dentro la Aldea de Mamaroneck. Village Manager Jerry Barberio and his staff will conduct open office hours from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, once a month, in Spanish. These open office hours are an opportunity for the Spanish-speaking members of our community to meet and speak with the Village Manager, ask him questions, discuss the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery Hurricane Ida Action Plan, discuss any concerns or problems that arise as a tenant in the community, and learn how to volunteer and participate in the Village of Mamaroneck.

Tree Committee Hosts Successful Winter Tree Walk

On Sunday, February 12, 2023, approximately 60 individuals joined the Village of Mamaroneck's Tree Committee for a Free Winter Tree Walk at Columbus Park. Thank you to all who attended and to Jocelyn Kleinman, from the Sheldrake Environmental Center, who shared her arboricultural knowledge with everyone. Participants explored tree species and learned some in-depth information, fun facts, and tips about caring for trees.

Village of Mamaroneck Day Camp at Harbor Island Park
Online registration for the Village of Mamaroneck Day Camp (VMDC) will open to Village of Mamaroneck residents on Monday, February 27, 2023. (Registration opens to non-Village of Mamaroneck residents on Monday, March 13, 2023.) If you are uncertain about your household's municipality, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at (914) 777-7784.
VMDC at Harbor Island Park will operate from June 26th to August 4th, Monday through Friday, between 9:00am and 3:00pm. There will be no camp on Tuesday, July 4th in honor of the Independence Day holiday. Early Morning Drop-off and Extended Day programs are available if you register for them. Camp registration is open to children age four (by the start of camp season) to teens who will be entering 9th grade in the fall of 2023.

Resident Railroad (RR) and Non-Resident Railroad (NRR) Parking Permits
Resident Railroad (RR) and Non-Resident Railroad (NRR) permit stickers that were issued for the 2022-2023 year will expire on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Individuals who currently have RR and NRR parking permits and wish to RENEW them will receive renewal applications in the mail. Beginning Wednesday, March 1, 2023, RR and NRR parking permits will go on sale to the general public. To learn more, click here.
Food Scraps Pick Up Schedule Changes Begin Monday, March 6
One-year since its inception, the Village of Mamaroneck's Food Scraps Pick Up Program is growing and the Village's Department of Public Works is expanding its pick up schedule. Instead of picking-up food scraps on Wednesdays, beginning Monday, March 6th, food scraps will be picked up in the following neighborhoods on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. To see which day of the week food scraps will be picked up in your neighborhood, please see the chart below.
The Food Scraps Pick Up Program is open to residents who live in single-family homes. Call the Village’s Department of Public Works (DPW) at 914-777-7745 if you have questions or to be placed on the food scraps pick-up list. Residents can register on a rolling basis. Save-the-Date: Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade - Sunday, March 19
The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade returns to Downtown Mamaroneck and will take place along Mamaroneck Avenue on Sunday, March 19, 2023, beginning at 1:30pm. For more information, please visit www.soundshoreparade.com.
Rent the Pavilion Deck
Book your next family event, party or other gathering at beautiful Harbor Island Park. Rent the Pavilion Deck located adjacent to Stephen E. Johnston Beach to celebrate your special event along the tranquil coastline of the Long Island Sound. With 1,200 square feet of party space and seating for 48, this party space will be the ideal waterfront setting to enjoy and gather as you enjoy your celebration. Empty Slips at the Marina Available for Rent
Empty slips at the marina for boats of varying sizes are now available for rent. The Village of Mamaroneck Harbor Master oversees and administers all vessels located within the waterways of Harbor Island, assigns each applicant a slip space, and is responsible for maintaining records of dock and mooring assignments. If you are interested in reserving a slip, please contact Jeff LaRusso or Kristen Salov at the Harbor Master’s Office at (914) 777-7744.

Building and Planning Departments Resume Friday Hours
The Building and Planning Departments Are Closed on Fridays from 3pm to 5pm
The Building and Planning Departments will be closed to the public for training purposes on Fridays from 3pm to 5pm. Please note that Building and Planning Department employees will be available from 9:00am to 3:00pm. At 3:00pm, the Departments will be closed to the public for the rest of the day and will resume regular office hours at 9:00am on the following Monday.

Child Care Council of Westchester - Get Help to Find/Pay for Child Care
Families who need help paying for daycare or after-school care should contact the Child Care Council of Westchester. This nonprofit organization administers the County’s Westchester Works Child Care Scholarship and other financial assistance for families who qualify. The scholarship has high income-limits – up to $92,120 for a family of three – and covers 50-60% of the cost of care. The Child Care Council can also help you find a safe, reliable child care provider to meet your family’s individual needs. All services for parents are free!
